Yaobian Ware

Qing Dynasty (A.D. 1644-1911)

As the ingredients of the glaze contain copper for the most part and minute quantities of coloring elements, such as cobalt, titanium, manganese and iron, in the process of firing, when the grains of these metals combine freely, sky-like marks in various shades are naturally produced on the porcelain, and when they mingle with the red glaze, the gorgeous hue of the jar is formed.

Prices range between $30 and $297.
