Wucai Ware (Five-colored)

Qing Dynasty (A.D. 1644-1911)

The coloration includes blue-and-white designs under the glaze and different colors above the glaze.  The colors include red, yellow, blue, green and purple.  Wucai (five-colored) is a type of overglaze decoration fired at a low temperature.  It was quite popular in the early Qing dynasty and continued afterwards.
