Yellow Ground Globular Vase with Red Dragon ITEM#
VJ44711 Size:
10" x 10" x 14.5" This vase has a small
flared mouth, a straight neck and a globular belly. It was a common
porcelain vase during the Yongzheng and Qianlong reigns in the Qing
dynasty and was named "Tian Qiu Ping." The fish and dragon
painted over the porcelain appear agitated, vigorous and bold,
possessing artistic originality. First, the yellow glaze is painted over
the white glazed piece and then the famille rose is painted over the
yellow glaze and fired at a low temperature. The firing process is quite
complicated. This is a rarely seen masterpiece. |
