It is hard to tell whether the dragons fly through clouds or waves. This was a perfect piece of work in terms of blue-white underglazed paintings. The making of underglaze blue is to first paint the design with cobalt; then apply a layer of transparent glaze over the body. The last step is to fire at a high temperature.
